Well, it’s 2021, and where I’m at we are still largely stuck at home. Schools in my community are still closed, as are libraries and other places I used to take my kids. It’s been a rough year in our little house, but I do enjoy the togetherness and the step back from the wedding hustle.

The absence of events has been pretty devastating for my small biz, but it also has created space for some new fun things! Inspired by my fabulous business coach, Julie of J. Eliza Creative, I created a series of YouTube tutorials for making DIY Valentines at home with your kids! We were discussing how it is sad that kids won’t have their fun Valentines Day parties at school with the cute card boxes and treats, and I figured it would be fun to create something fun and different to do that would also spread a little joy.

For me, February is one of the hardest months here in Michigan. It is cold and grey and it’s the point where I wonder if winter will ever actually end. Infusing some red, pink, unicorns and rainbows sure feels like a good way to turn the winter blues around.
